Garden
I made a Garden by putting down cardboard and mulch over grass.

I planted Shenandoah switch grass, joe pry weed and American hornbeam
Rain Garden
In a wet area of the yard, I dug out a 9ft diameter semi-circle by 1ft deep and planted, swamp milkweed, common rush, woolgrass, and River oats.
An example of what first year planting might look like. This is our front yard. This is the smallest plant option.
